Rainbow Luau - May the 4th be with you

Come join us for our 2nd Annual Rainbow Luau at the Salt Lake Buddhists Temple. Festivities to include a drag show, musical numbers by Maya Ikagami, Ukelele by KJ Adachi. There will be awards for best costume outfit (best Aloha, best Star Wars, best Star Wars Aloha combo).

Cost will be $25 per person (includes tropical themed finger foods, appetizers & 1 drink, and $8 for additional beverage). For those 21 and under the cost will be $15.

Spring cleaning

Hi everyone,

The Salt Lake Buddhist Temple will be holding it’s annual spring cleaning in preparation for Nihon Matsuri. If you have some free to come help clean our Temple we would greatly appreciate it. We will be cleaning both the inside and outside of the Temple.

Hanamatsuri Service

Come join us for this special service where we celebrate the birth of Siddhartha Gautama who later became Sakyamuni Buddha. Service will start at 10 AM.

There will be a program and luncheon following service.

Hoonko Service

Please join us for our Hoonko Service. This is one of the most important service for us because it honors Shinran Shonin, founder of Jodo Shinshu sect of Buddhism. “Hoonko” means “ repaying our debt of gratitude” which truly reflects our appreciation for Shinran’s teaching and life.

There is will a luncheon following service. BWA will provide main course and we ask the sangha to bring a side dish or salad to share with everyone.
