This book was out of print for a number of years and then re-issued
due to demand. It is a very comprehensive look at the history of
development of Buddhism in Japan.
How the Swans Came to the Lake Rick Fields
Although this book may now be somewhat dated. It is one of the
first books to examine the history of Buddhism in America
